What's in a name?

Pasadena Stud

The name "Pasadena Stud" has been in my family for many years. My grandparents bred and raced standardbred horses under this name since approx 1950 with their final race in 2008. They were well known in the local SE Qld trotting community, with horses regularly racing at Rocklea, Redcliffe, Gold Coast & Tweed Heads and always racing in white harness. Their racing colours were maroon and navy with white diagonal stripe and were loosely based off the TSS colours (where their 4 sons attended school).

I remember the walls in my grandfather's "pool room" being filled with all their photo finishes. We were also lucky enough to go "to the trots" with them...riding in the back of the old horse truck - sitting on the harness bags behind the headboard - this was many years ago when this was allowed ;)

Following their retirement from racing I asked if I could keep the name going albeit with cattle not horses.

I was also fortunate to keep the brand they started with many years ago - P8S.
